Late 15th Century / Early 16th Century French Antique Oak Offertory Box.
Reserved
A delightful French antique oak offertory box.
Late 15th Century / early 16th Century.
Plank and nailed construction.
With iron strap hinges, lock plate and hasp. The key is associated.
Condition – surface wear is commensurate with age. There are traces of old worm. Long since gone and treated too as a precautionary measure. A very minor timber fillet repair has been made to the rear left corner of the plank top. The iron hinges and hasp have been heavily restored and painted black (prior to our ownership). The lock plate has been replaced historically and again painted black. The alterations do not detract and the box still displays very well.
Size: Width 32cm x Depth 19cm x Height 20 cm (12 1/2″ x 7 1/2″ x 8″)
