Description
A large and rare antique salt glazed stoneware chicken feeder / waterer.
English origin.
19th Century in date.
Formed from clay with two cylinders, each decorated with a knopped finial, the larger to accommodate / store feed or water; the smaller with an open aperture at the front that would act as a reservoir for the feed / water and allow the birds to eat or drink from the device.
Condition – as per the images. In exceptional condition. There are no traces of restoration nor cracks. The feeding aperture has a very minor frit to the lower right side. This does not detract from the piece which still displays very well. A further detailed condition report is available upon request.
Size: Height 31 cm (12 1/4″)
