Large Late 16thC Antique Carved Oak Panel Depicting a Male Figure

A large late 16thC carved oak panel fragment depicting a substantially carved head and torso male figure depicted wearing a hat with a robe over his right shoulder and arm, his face with a moustache and beard.

The backboard is heavily decorated with a Tudor-style rose with scrolls above, guilloche and stylised foliage.

This is an impressive panel that displays very well.

Condition – as per the images.  This panel is likely to be the surviving fragment from a much larger panel/screen now lost. The panel is of good colour. A further detailed condition report is available upon request.
