A large late 16thC carved oak panel fragment depicting a substantially carved head and torso male figure depicted wearing a hat with a robe over his right shoulder and arm, his face with a moustache and beard.
The backboard is heavily decorated with a Tudor-style rose with scrolls above, guilloche and stylised foliage.
This is an impressive panel that displays very well.
Condition – as per the images. This panel is likely to be the surviving fragment from a much larger panel/screen now lost. The panel is of good colour. A further detailed condition report is available upon request.
