Description

A 17th Century English antique London-made bronze mortar, the outer surface bearing four cast Crowned Tudor Roses.

Made by the London “unidentified” foundry.

It is thought that the “Tudor Rose” motif may have been used as a commemoration of the return of the English Monarchy and the Restoration of King Charles II to the English throne.

Offered for sale with an associated brass pestle of later date.

Provenance: Sourced from a private Norwich- based collection.

Condition – Good as per the images. This mortar displays incredibly well.
