A large life-size 15thC, highly detailed, antique carved wooden head depicting the head of Christ wearing his Crown of Thorns on the day of the crucifixion.

Hewn from a single piece of timber and carved by a highly skilled craftsman.

Provenance: Sourced from a private collection in Rugby, Warwickshire, England.  Acquired by the previous owner from an antique shop whilst travelling in France many years ago.

With traces of original polychromy.

Condition – as per the images. The sculpture displays well. A further detailed condition report is available upon request.
