A lovely Mendlesham chair, constructed from yew wood with a shaped elm seat and, dating back to the turn of the 19th Century.
These chairs were only made in the village of Mendlesham, Suffolk, England.
The cresting rail over a typical Mendlesham-type back with a shaped central splat flanked by spindles and turned balls below leading to shaped arms, shaped seat board and four turned legs united by an “H” stretcher.
A sturdy chair which is ready to go.
