An early 17th Century English antique oak boarded box presented on an associated oak stand of later date.
The box of nailed construction, its plank top with a moulded edge above a carved front incorporating nulling. The sides and back of plain form.
The lid lifts to reveal an interior with original till.
The lock plate appears to be original. The hasp also appears to be original. Original hinges too.
Supported on a later period stand, the front rail and side rails are carved with a lunette frieze, over four legs united by an ”H” stretcher.
Condition – Good overall. Lovely patination. Some surface marks as one would expect given age. A further detailed condition report is available upon request.
