An 18th Century George III Period English Antique “Wax Jack”

Description

An 18th Century Georgian Period English antique “wax jack”.
Complete and all original including an 18thC taper!
Originally used at the writing table to melt sealing wax, light candles, etc.
This example is particularly nice because it has fretwork “heart-shaped” motifs on the base of the stand and a bold “S” shaped handle.
Condition – Offered in “untouched country house condition”.
The spring of the taper-holder is intact and operational. One of the hearts at the base has damage but cannot be seen once the was taper has been fitted. Good colour early brass which would polish well if required.  We love the aged patina that has built up! A further detailed condition report is available upon request.

Size:  Height approx 5″ / Diameter of the Base (excluding projection for the handle) 3 3/8″ (12.75 cm x 8.6 cm)
