19thC English Antique Slipware Salt Pig.
Originating from the North of England.
The baluster-shaped body with single aperture, knop and hanger.
Decorated in underglaze brown with applied cream slip decoration and bearing the word “salt”.
Condition – as per the images. A crack runs from the left side of the hanger (this has also been re-attached) to the front aperture and also down a proportion of the right side of the back of the main body. This is still a functional and decorative piece of slipware.
