17th Century Style, 19th Century Made, English Antique Carved Oak Letter Rack Dated “1895”



A lovely antique carved oak letter rack of five plank construction in the 17thC revival style seen during the later 19thC.

English origin.

The shaped pediment decorated with scrolls, flowers, swags and guilloche. The sides carved with flowers, vines, foliage and swags, the right side bearing the words “Anno”, the left side bearing a date of “1895”. The reticluated front heavily carved with a swag and wreath flanked with cherubs and terms, terminating on a gadrooned-carved plinth base.

There is adequate space to accomodate a number of large envelopes.

Condition – as per the images. Good overall. A further detailed condition report is available upon request.
