The ideal piece to decorate an old fireplace or inglenook!
A 17th Century English antique trivet. Blacksmith-made. Placed down hearth (the floor of a fireplace) or fireside and used as a stand to place pans and plates upon to keep warm from the heat of the fire.
With a rectangular, horizontal plate, decorated with scrolls. Supported on four elongated stems; two with feet of plain form and two with V-shaped feet, and designed to be placed against the bars of a fire grate.
Condition – Good as per the images. There is surface wear and pitting to the iron surface which is commensurate with age.
