Description
A 17th Century antique brass alms dish.
Decorated throughout with repousse work and stamped decoration. The centre decorated with a naive rampant lion over weaponry surrounded by stamp work incorporating scrolls and foliage. The outer rim decorated with gadrooning and a rolled flange.
Condition – as per the images. Good overall. Wear to the surface commensurate with age and some minor dents. A lead solder repair is evident to the right foot of the lion but is unobtrusive and can hardly be noticed.
Size: Diameter 39 cm (15 1/2″)
