This is one of the latest slipware pieces we have ever bought but we had to have it!
Made in Halifax, West Yorkshire, England, this charming cradle was made to commemorate the birth of Violet Gee on 5th July 1905 and is inscribed with the very same.
With two birds peering over the hood of the cradle and two further birds peering in and decorated with an "agate-type" slip decoration, this is a real piece of folk-art.
Condition - as per images. Overall good. Loss of one of the birds head (peering in); one knopped finial to the hood re-attached and the front rocker has been naively re-attached with a glue-based substance. This item does however display very well.
