Information

For sale we offer this original 19th Century English School monotone watercolour.

Label verso states that the picture is titled ""The Curfew Tolls The Knell of Parting Day".  Painted circa 1870 and attributed to Laurence Burd (albeit the picture is unsigned), a Shrewsbury landscape painter who exhibited in Birmingham 1848-1870.

Surrounded by a lined mount, behind glass and set within a gilded frame, this item is evocative of the period.
